Toe update

Here are the gorgeous toes - seem to be on the mend, swelling has gone down a lot, slightly funny shape still especially the toe closest to the big toe.

Lamb Shopping

Thanks to a very kind offer by the Pedersens we went lamb shopping today - two very cute lambies to choose from, always so hard to choose.
But...here she is:

Ready for Science Fair

Here is Tian's Science Fair entry for this year. She won the Yr 7 investigation last year and her goal is to win the Yr 8 section this year. Time will tell.

Tian's Little Piggys

Well today took an unusual twist when Miss Tian was running errands for Mrs Stiles at school and had a disagreement with the music room door. Unfortunately her school couldn't get hold of me as I was at a course in Morrinsville and had my cell on mute. Luckily they eventually got hold of Debby and John and they drove across and took her to the doctors. Currently her toes are too swollen to make the x-ray they took easy to tell if they're broken or not. Needless to say happy-camper she is not!

The Crack of Dawn

Arriving at school before the sun has really risen is the norm in my world. At least now that it's the end of August the sun is finally beginning to rise as I arrive.

The Body Bag

Some mornings there are things you just don't need to see.

Any wild guesses as to what our loving kitties did during the night? On behalf of them and our whole family we'd like to express our sincere apologies To Mrs Rabby and those remaining in her family.

Ya Gotta Be Seen

A gorgeous Saturday morning deserved another walk in the end of winter sunshine.
Here is HT showing the height of woofy fashion sporting his 2013 high-vis ensemble.

Friday stroll

Tian had her college interview today and was meant to go from there to surf training but a migraine has seen her in bed asleep since 4:00pm.
On the up-side it meant an early home and time to walk the woofy while it was light and relatively warm still. As we strolled up the road a very round wood pigeon peered down upon us from the safety of his kowhai tree.

Spring flowers

One of most gorgeous things about the coming of Spring is an array of spring flowers.
These vibrant daffodils can be found in and around our school gardens.

The beginning of class popart

Today in my classroom we began an art project with links to maths.
The ultimate aim is to create a popart piece demonstrating quarter turn rotation of four identical photos differentiated only by colour.
My class had the choice of a silly portrait or a sensible one.

Can you guess which was the more popular option :-)

Winter Evening

After a long hard day that consisted of 22 hours sleeping and 2 hours of what a cat has to do (eat, potty stop, groom etc... A nice long sleep is just what Pollo needed. Now he just needs to convince the humans in this family that he needs a loo and a bowl near the fire, plus the fire needs to be on all day.

Dinner my favourite

One of my favourite dinners well part of , the cracknal. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I think that I am hearing my stomach rumble

Tired Woofy

A weekend of work-work-work for both of us, nothing like being submerged in either planning, assessment, science fair, future problem solving, flute or surf pool training.

Thankfully I was rescued by my friend and mentor Jenny for a nice 8km walk. For a change we walked from home which meant HT could come too - he loved every minute and is now totally exhausted.

A really yummy lunch with our good friend Anthony. He came over from Canada on business. It tasted amazing.

Friday - thank goodness

Well it's been an incredibly busy week with far more late nights and early mornings than is good for either of us.

Our photo celebrates that "tomorrow is a sleep-in!" YIPPEE!

Reach out

We visited another college today, it was far more impressive and is worth considering.
Worse luck it made for a very long day - leaving home at just after 5am and not returning until 9:45pm.

We've come a long way

A visit to Katikati Museum as a school trip provided some insight as to what a teacher's life was like 100 years ago. In some ways we've made huge progress but in others, not so much.

Looks can be deceiving

Our second college open night and this one left us 'underwhelmed', proof that amazing packaging cannot disguise a lack of substance behind the doors.

Day One

The beginning of a journey is like a black and white photo waiting for detail to be added.

Our world day by day

Sometimes remembering to take life just one day at a time is easier said than done. Life takes on a manic pace and it's easy to loose site of the things which are truly important to us. For me "Family" is number one!

The lane you draw doesn't matter - it's how race that counts.
